New website...
I now have a NEW website to showcase some of my work.
Well kinda new…. I turned this little site around in under a day!
Yep, because Golden Ink were guest bloging on The Design Files (a few weeks ago now) I thought it was time I got myself together and actually had somewhere to link my work to.
Still needs a bit of work, but not bad for a days work!

Harvest Textiles workshops

Things to look out for

letterpress plates
A couple weeks ago did some illustrations and had them made up into magnesium blocks for letterpress printing. The plates have now arrived and they look so shiny and pretty, before they have even been used! I will be printing them very soon on my lovely new packet of magnani paper in a Heidelberg windmill press.

lino cut plates
Working on some new printing plates for clay impressions. There is a newish brad of lino available that is carving beautifully for this, along with my trusty handmade japanese tools this is a perfect combination. Katherine and I are very excited to see how our new range will be perceived. We are still in the initial stages at the moment but I can sense it will be great!

Getting back to the print
Sadly it has been a little too long since I have printed. Which I miss. I have been honing my skill painting on ceramics, which I can now say is becoming more and more refined with every new batch. Golden Ink received an acquisition award!
Golden Ink submitted a few works into the Brunswick Street Gallery small works exhibition that opened on Friday night, annnd… we received an acquisition award for a series of our porcelain jewellery pieces. Wow. Feel very humbled as there were thousands of entries! Definitely worth checking out, open till the 29th of June.

Pent House Mouse showcase

Yep Golden Ink were in the first Melbourne Finders Keepers market.
It was a wonderful 2 sunny days, Kate and I worked nightshift to get our label ready for the stall and were very happy with the outcome. We meet lots of talented and friendly people, received loads of really nice feedback and had fantastic publicity.

Hidden Facets exhibition, Sydney
Hidden Facets is coming to Sydney!
Katherine Wheeler and myself are bringing our joint exhibition to Gaffa Gallery during August.
Like all good exhibitions, there will be an opening to enjoy a glass of wine with us, we’ll also have some pieces available for purchase, starting with rings and jewellery from around $65. There will also be some one-off drawings, prints and hollowware.

new bisque fired, porcelain jewellery pieces
Today I picked up a batch of porcelain pieces from the kiln. It is the first bisque fire before the final glaze. Most of the pieces are to make up jewellery ware and tests to see how effective my new underglaze medium is with the pigment. BSG works on paper prize
Last night was the opening for the Brunswick Street Art Gallery, works on paper prize. There was some beautiful and technically brilliant works in the show, worth going to have a look. newfound old work
I was going through my print drawers this morning trying to find some work to enter into a drawing prize and come across these pieces. I really need to have a solo show or start promoting my work some more, I have drawers and drawers FULL of drawings and prints that don’t see the light of day.

Hidden Facets exhibition at Hand Held Gallery

The lighting in the gallery is a bit dark but it gives a good indication of the works in the gallery. This show will also be traveling to Sydney most likely in July at Gaffa in the Keepers gallery so keep posted for more information.
