New website…
I now have a NEW website to showcase some of my work.
Well kinda new…. I turned this little site around in under a day!
Yep, because Golden Ink were guest bloging on The Design Files (a few weeks ago now) I thought it was time I got myself together and actually had somewhere to link my work to.
Still needs a bit of work, but not bad for a days work!
Slightly slow to disclose this news as things have been a little chaotic lately!
I do plan to stay more on-top of these details from now on.
I also plan to focus more energy and time into a new illustrated range……
Harvest Textiles workshops
Another amazing class of people worked incredibly and studiously hard through my Embellished porcelain jewellery workshop at Harvest this past gone month! Well done and I hope you are all enjoying the fruits of your labour…..

(sorry about the poor photos!)
The Design Files guest blog
Yep, this week Golden Ink are guest blogging on The Design Files.
We have had sooo many lovely comments already, thanks to Lucy and Jenny for the exposure and general loveliness!

It may also have something to do with the fact that we are giving away two pieces of jewellery from our latest printed range?
All you have to do is comment before this Thursday at 10pm to win this bangle and necklace! Winner will be announced on Friday.
Check daily (Thursday 6th and Friday 7th) on TDF for Golden Ink’s last two guest posts!
Tomorrow we will be doing a little feature on collaborations and Friday you will get to see what we have coming up in the future. Enjoy…..
Things to look out for
> It is now well and truly the month of print, a series of events and shows that is held in conjunction with Impact 7 (an international printmaking conference). The conference is in Australia and hosted in Melbourne at Monash university this year, at the moment, only one day left now! There have been some really amazing, inspiring and insightful seminars and presenters. For those of you who have not been fortunate to attend, it is still the month of print here in Melbourne and all around Australia. There is so many wonderful exhibitions and events happening, so check it out and try and make it along to something.

> A few of you might have seen that Kate and I (Golden Ink) have an exhibition on in regional NSW at Cudgegong Gallery. There is a nice little review on Q and Art on wita.
> Pieces of Eight have just announced that they are launching a new concept gallery; Edition X, in their former premises of Fitzroy. Golden Ink will be part of this show and will help to launch the space by making an installation in the front window. We will release more information about this shortly.

A selection of bangles we will have available for purchase in the gallery, launching late October - early November.
> Annnd, very exciting…., for the whole of next week (October 3rd - 7th) Golden Ink will host a guest blog on the amazing Melbourne blog; The Design Files run by the beautiful and very influential Lucy Feagins. Be sure to check in for a behind the scenes sneak peek into how we operate.
letterpress plates
A couple weeks ago did some illustrations and had them made up into magnesium blocks for letterpress printing. The plates have now arrived and they look so shiny and pretty, before they have even been used! I will be printing them very soon on my lovely new packet of magnani paper in a Heidelberg windmill press.

GINK port folio
I thought I should share some images of the portfolio I made (a little while back now) to display our-goldenink’s work.
I was in a meeting the other day with this folio and didn’t really realise until several people started ogling over it that this was actually a really nice, and a really powerful tool of presentation. I whipped up this folio without even thinking, it just came about and it is, I feel, a perfect fit for our work. That along with the amazing photographs we have, taken by Olga Bennett makes for quite an exquisite and beautifully tactile object.
Making photography and artist port-folios is now second nature to me, this is one of my main roles at work - Irwin & McLaren (bookbindery).
This folio is made from a golden yellow patent leather, white buckram book cloth and has high quality mylar sleeves on the inside.

Season Two of Golden Ink
Yes, that’s right, we (golden ink) released our season two range of products onto our online store yesterday. Many of our pieces have already been snaffled up, so head on over and check it out before they all find new homes.
Hint, hint…. our watercolour range is just in time for spring, a perfect pop of colour to add to your wardrobe!

We will be in an exhibition; Places and Spaces in regional NSW at Cudgegong Gallery that is being curated by Zara Collins. The work has been finished and is being photographed, ready for delivery to the gallery. For anyone whom just happens to be in the area!!? pop in and check it out. We have created a magical porcelain landscape. For those who can’t make it, like us, I will post some pics.
lino cut plates
Working on some new printing plates for clay impressions. There is a newish brad of lino available that is carving beautifully for this, along with my trusty handmade japanese tools this is a perfect combination. Katherine and I are very excited to see how our new range will be perceived. We are still in the initial stages at the moment but I can sense it will be great!
Golden Ink shop stock
Nearly there! GINK products have been photographed and will make their way to the store very soon……

Getting back to the print
Sadly it has been a little too long since I have printed. Which I miss.
I have been honing my skill painting on ceramics, which I can now say is becoming more and more refined with every new batch. The odd drawing for exhibitions and cutting lino plates for a new batch of work for golden ink is underway. This process reminded me how enjoyable it is to create your own plate and the excitement of pulling the first print.
So I have just finished a series of drawings that will soon become letterpress prints and lino prints. Very excited to get back into it.

Green ware for online store!
Painted greenware for Golden Ink’s online store!
It has since been fired and is now in the process of being photographed.
Very soon we will have these wonderful gems in our store to replenish the levels.
Stay posted, or join the Golden Ink mail list (located at the bottom of the page) for a first exclusive look and chance to purchase before they go public!

more Golden Ink stock!
Kate and I have been busy making work for a few upcoming exhibitions and gallery shops. Here is a little sneak peak;
We will have a beautiful navy blue and orange porcelain series of jewellery and cups to launch a new gallery space in the Melbourne’s CBD. It’s all quite at the moment, but we will be sure to announce it soon!

As part of ‘The Curio’ exhibition held at Gaffa Gallery Golden Ink showcased a selection of golden yellow and black production and exhibition pieces. The show has now finished but our work is still available in the Sterling gallery as part of the Gaffa complex. Those of you based in Sydney and haven’t been before should definitely pop past and check it out, it’s a gorgeous contemporary jewellery store and complex!
